Our rapidly expanding operations require a passionate and skilled Marketing and Communications Specialist to amplify our brand voice, enhance engagement with key stakeholders, and drive visibility across our digital channels.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic Marketing and Communications Specialist to drive Akula Tech's brand presence across various channels, manage public relations, and develop compelling content that resonates with our diverse audience groups. The role requires someone who can collaborate effectively with our engineering and management teams, translating complex technical information into clear and impactful marketing materials. This part-time position offers the potential for full-time conversion depending on the candidate’s performance and fit.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Social Media Management: Oversee Akula Tech’s social media channels, including LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Instagram, and more. Develop and execute social media strategies to build brand awareness, and engage audiences.
Content Curation & Development: Collaborate closely with engineering and management teams to produce content tailored to different audience groups, including clients, stakeholders, and industry partners. Generate high-quality content for use in sales, marketing materials, and other communication channels.
Public Relations and Media Engagement: Engage with external media partners (e.g., magazines, industry newsletters) to increase Akula Tech’s visibility. Assist in Identifying PR opportunities and coordinate with journalists, editors, and other media professionals to secure coverage.
Sales Support and Material Development: Support the Business Development team by creating sales presentations, pitch decks, and marketing collateral. Ensure that all sales materials effectively communicate the company’s unique value propositions and capabilities.
Website Management and Content Development: Manage website updates and develop new content that highlights Akula Tech’s innovations and industry-leading solutions. Ensure the website is a strong marketing asset that reflects the company’s brand and engages visitors effectively.
Merchandise Design and Development: Lead the creation of branded merchandise for events and clients, including ideation, and design
Internal Marketing: Assist in development and coordination of internal communications, such as stakeholder newsletters and company updates, to keep team members informed and engaged.
Event Marketing Collateral Development: Design and prepare marketing collateral for conferences, including brochures, and video presentations. Assist in representing Akula Tech’s brand effectively at industry events.
Technology Demonstration Videos: Lead the development of video content showcasing Akula Tech’s technologies for distribution across social media, the website, and at industry events.
Marketing Strategy Development: Work with engineering and management teams to develop a long-term marketing strategy that aligns with Akula Tech’s mission and growth goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Proven experience in social media management, content creation, and public relations, ideally in the Aerospace, Defence, or Technology sectors.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to translate technical concepts for a general audience.
- Experience in website management and familiarity with web content management systems.
- Creative flair for designing marketing collateral and developing video content.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams to source information and understand complex products.
- Australian citizenship or PR.
- Background or experience in the Aerospace and Defence industry.
