Avalon, Australia — Our Chief AI Officer Nishq has taken top honours at Avalon 2025, winning the prestigious AMDA Emerging Tech Award for his work on the Space-Ready AI Model Optimizer — a cutting-edge solution designed to enhance the performance and reliability of AI models deployed in space environments.
The award, presented by the AMDA Foundation Limited at the Avalon Australian International Airshow and Aerospace & Defence Exposition, recognises game-changing innovations that demonstrate real potential to transform the aerospace and defence industries.
At the core of this innovation is a software technology that optimizes AI models with proprietary auto-quantization and auto-pruning techniques, followed by running them in a C++ runtime environment, enabling these optimized AI models to run 5x more efficiently on average. This technology seamlessly adapts terrestrial AI models for the extreme conditions of space, drastically reducing power consumption and resource demands — critical for satellites, autonomous platforms, and remote missions.
Validated through real-world demonstrations, the system showcases rapid on-board data processing, significantly enhancing capabilities for real-time environmental monitoring, disaster response, and defence operations.
